Missouri Farriers' Association

We are a group of Farriers, dedicated to the continuing education of farriers, horse owners and trainers on sound hoof care, while promoting the equine industry within Missouri.

We support certification of farriers and encourage horse owners to seek out the services of certified farriers. We are a chapter of the Brotherhood of Working Farriers which is the largest farrier organization in the world.

We welcome the membership of farriers, horse owners and those interested in shoeing, research and farrier science as members.

Our meetings take place the 3rd Saturday of each month at 12:00 noon. Our meeting location is the Shur Shod Horseshoeing School, 2900 Bluebird Dr. Grovespring, MO.65662.

Please e mail Joe Dean at Rowdy9s@gmail.com with your nominations we will then compile a list and get a copy out too all members. The election will be held in June at the heartbar clinic in Arnold Missouri.

On June 21, 2008, Missouri Farriers Association will host a heart bar clinic with BWFA Master Farrier Max Williams. Max is a co-owner of Shur Shod Horseshoeing School and studied under the direction of Bernie Chapman.

Kelly Case, also a co-owner of Shur Shod Horseshoeing School will give a Thermal Imaging presentation.

Following this Erin Venable of Purina Mills LLC will give a presentation of the new products from Purina for Cushings and Laminitic horses and their new weight management products.

Dennis Hills of Champion's Mercantile and Wayne and Janine White of Double D Acres LLC will also give away one pair of GE 15 inch hoof nippers. A name will be drawn from the attending veterinarians and farriers.

The MOFA meeting will begin at noon and the other presentations will begin at 1:00 p.m.

The clinic will be held at Double D Acres Stables located at 3814 Lonedell Road in Arnold, Missouri.

We promote certification for farriers and strongly advise horse owners to seek out the services of certified farriers.
